Nana and Papa's New House

Aaron's parents, also known as Nana-Mae and Ron-Pa or Nana and Papa, have recently purchased a home in Mulhurst, nestled against Pigeon Lake.  It is a large, two bedroom, five bathroom home, with vaulted ceilings and a loft, indoor hot tub, and ridiculous amounts of space.  A beautiful, well-kept home with a wrap around covered porch and two small balconies.  And I sadly didn't take any pictures of the interior or exterior of the house because I was too enamored with the backyard.

Yes, their very own private pond, island, fountain, and waterfall.  The island has a gazebo and a full-sized garden.  Back in the trees there are several fire pits and RV camp areas (for when company comes to visit).  Woah.  If you know Aaron's mom you know that this is the perfect place for her and Ron.

We spent as much time outside as we could, but there were lots and lots of mosquitoes, so we had to go inside often.  And play pool.  Aria wanted to play too, so she became the 30 pound pool cue and handicap for Aaron.  I think he still beat me that game.

We took a walk to the lake just ten minutes down the road.

Took a drive around the lake too.  Beautiful day.
It was a nearly perfect weekend, except for one thing.  Aria decided to take a swim in the pond.  I wasn't there when it happened, but Aaron dove in to save her.  I didn't know anything was going on until Aaron called from the door that he needed towels.  Aria was cold, wet and dirty, but otherwise okay.  It left Aaron quite shaken, and put everyone in a somber mood.  The rest of the day Aria would babble about water and pond with a serious expression, but has since forgotten all about it.
Quite the eventful day, Aria fell asleep only fifteen minutes in to the two and a half hour drive.  And note the artwork on both forearms - she was back to mischief quickly.  We do love our little cupcake and are so incredibly grateful for the angels watching out for her that day.

So glad Aria is okay - so scary for Aaron!

Yes thank you to the angels and to Aaron for watching over our sweet baby. Maybe next time you go you should get one of those leashes to keep her close.

Tenley tried that in a pond too last summer. Adam didn't have to dive but he didn't have time to take off his shoes and he was in past his knees by the time he reached her. It didn't phase Tenley at all but Adam and I were pretty rattled. (And when we got home that day, she tried to ride her trike into the street and put a fork into an electrical outlet. She really had it out for herself that day.)
