hot chocolate hugs and snow angel kisses

Aria loves to decorate the tree and make the house beautiful.
She cried when I took it down, and said that our house wasn't pretty anymore.

She got to visit with Santa for several minutes.
When we asked what he said she replies, "Merry Christmas."
And when we ask what she said she replies, "Merry Christmas."
That is her story and she won't change it at all.

Once Upon a Christmas at Heritage Park.
We hadn't been in a few years, and it was more fun with Aria now.
A petting zoo (with sheep!), a horse-drawn wagon ride, a train display...
we even let her go in the kids only store to buy us presents
(and she's really pretty good at keeping secrets now, so we really don't know what she got!).

The Santa Parade in Airdrie was all of 20 minutes long,
but it was one of Aria's favorite things to talk about,
because they threw candy and glow-sticks to all the kids.

We love to see lights!  And Spruce Meadows does a marvelous job every year.

I love making her special dresses.  She loves to wear them.

Someone put soap in the fountain ...

Dinner and presents at Grandpa's house!
Aria is so spoiled and so loved.

Christmas would not be complete without seeing the live Nativity.
We warmed up afterwards at a music night with the Meuses.
Aria loves to sing into microphones and be the center of attention.

We went last year and had to go again on Christmas Eve.
This family has an incredible amount of lights around their property.
It may have been -17C, but it was worth it.

Christmas morning at Nana and Papa's!
Aria had been awake until nearly midnight the night before, so we all got to sleep in.
We even had breakfast ready before she woke up, so we started with that.
Everyone was so happy with what they gave and got.
I was spoiled with a new crockpot and LAPTOP!  (Yay for blogging again!)
Uncle Nathan was able to have work off for the first Christmas in three years.
We demanded that he come down and be with us.  It was worth the drive.
And as an anniversary present from Aaron's mother, we got tickets for Piano Guys!!
Aria was spoiled with lots of books, a few movies, a new tea set, Paw Patrol toys,
more Play-Doh, and several games.  But nothing compared to the gift from Uncle Nathan.
Two days before Christmas she suddenly tells us that she's going to get an Aurora dress.
So she does.  It is very shimmery and sparkly and beautiful.
And to top it off, we had gotten her a wig during Halloween clearance -
which just happened to be Aurora.

Before we came home, we had to stop at Aaron's Grandmother's home.
She has cancer and has lost a lot of weight, but she is feeling good and is in good spirits.
We cherish our time with her and are so glad that Aria knows her great grandmother.

From our family, to yours: Merry Christmas!
And may you have a happy and prosperous new year.
