We braved the frozen weather for Easter activities at the zoo.
Face-painting, candy, cookie decorating, rabbit races, archery, and a giant hamster ball.
Grandpa came by with a few little gifts from the Easter Pirate, who brings chocolate coins.
Homemade Easter dresses. I didn't love how they turned out,
but they had the best pockets for hunting eggs!
Easter was spent at Nana's house with the cousins.
Six different colors of eggs for hunting!
The three children = six grandchildren, with two more girls on the way to even it out.
We tried several different ways of dying eggs.
Traditional, along with the addition of oil to the water (made the white spots).
Swirling in whipped cream (didn't turn out very well at all).
Wrapping in a paper towel and dripping with food coloring (AWESOME).
The bonus of living in the middle of nowhere - the herds of deer!
There were at least a dozen deer wandering the property that afternoon.
Grandpa came to Nana's house for the first time!
He played his guitar and MaryAnn loved it.
Easter was the last day of our Spring Break, but the first day for the McDougall boys.
So I let Aria miss three days of school and hang out with her cousins.
They baked cookies, had tea parties, went shopping, visited the science museum,
and stayed at a hotel with water slides and a pool. I just got to meet up with them at the zoo.
