Getting close

After months of waiting around for the results from the FBI, they finally came in the mail yesterday! We've been using that as the excuse for not getting the rest done, but no excuses anymore. There are seven things left to do before we can get this done and gone, and our goal is to have it in the mail by the end of the month.

  1. Medical Exam - the appointment is booked for Monday at noon. I also have an appointment for bloodwork the next Thursday, and the x-ray is walk-in only.
  2. Option C Printout - Aaron needs to call the Canada Revenue Agency and get that sent over. The only possible problem would be that his taxes were mailed in only two weeks ago, so they might not have them in the system yet.
  3. Letter from employer - Aaron just needs to ask. Shouldn't be a problem.
  4. Two photographs - After getting an extra set the first time, we found out that the doctor requires 3 photos (instead of just one). So now I have to go back and get another set for the actual application. Have to ask dad-in-law to take me to Costco again.
  5. Permanent Residence Application - The most extensive of the forms, which includes my work history for the last ten years (so ALL of it), all of my education history, all the places I've lived, etc. Just a matter of filling it out and getting it printed.
  6. Sponsorship Evaluation - Super easy compared to the other form. We need Aaron's work information, and some financial numbers from the last 12 months.
  7. Receipt - The biggest hang-up of it all. It isn't often that we have an extra $1050 kicking around. We had a recent windfall of money though, and we'll be heading off to the bank on Monday and getting that taken care of as well!

So there we have it. Monday will be a busy day (Aaron's day off), so we'll take full advantage of it. The last little hold up will just be waiting for that Option C Printout, but if we can get Aaron on the phone for that today, we should be good for the end of the month!
